unless you can't buy food, which isn't an issue until I guess chapter 4 is the first place you don't start with access to an inn. if you die, rest until healed, HP goes up. made it to 100 on Owen in chapter 2 or 3. Tagging defense skill didn't seem particularly useful. enemies generally go for the mage first, so either the fight is over because they didn't go for your mage and your mage responded by killing everyone or at least paralzing them forever, or they went for your mage.

except for the really big ticket items.Īlways give your best armor to your Mage.

Don't be afraid to use potions, you can always buy more and eventually you gather enough money that picking up more loot is not really worth the effort if you aren't going to use it. wasn't difficult to get that much money twice before leaving that zoneĬrossbow accuracy grows rather rapidly especially if you have an elven crossbow, bolt has to go somewhere if you drink Truesight tea your accuracy goes up if you need it to go up, if owen drinks lewtons concentrate thats +30% casting accuracy, which raises the skill above 100% which is great for reliably hitting with flamecast or fetters of rime. You can pick up an elven crossbow in La Mutt, if you haggle the price is 685 I believe. If you get the best sword in the game its got +45 to hit making late game melee skill somewhat moot as long as you get it to 70 or so. Rapiers have a +20 to hit on a thrust, elven crossbows have a +25 to hit making them ideal for leveling skills with a low starting skill. but money is fast and easy enough that it doesn't really matter, except at the start. Weapons and Armor can be sold in Yabon, jewels can be sold everywhere but should be held and sold in jewelry shops especially hawk's hollow. Later on a single piece of gear sells for over 100 gold plenty of money to fund rest until healed. and you can get a decent amount of gold off dead enemies selling their gear. which isn't that bad considering 30 days will also increase your max HP/stamina. cheapest being 3.2 about 30 days or 90 rations to recover from near death state. You can usually buy rations for 7 gold or less for 14 rations.
